Faith-Based Safety Awareness Class
Informing Today’s Decisions Through Lessons from Yesterday
Service Description
This awareness-focused class is designed to educate and empower houses of worship with the tools to better understand and prepare for the complex safety risks of today’s world—including the reality of targeted violence. While some material may be graphic due to its real-world context, the purpose is not to incite fear, but to offer clarity, context, and constructive direction. Attendees will learn to: Identify early warning signs and pre-attack behaviors Understand the structure and value of a tailored Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) Evaluate the current level of safety within their facility and congregational routines Apply basic trauma care principles that can make the difference in life-threatening situations Navigate the criminal, civil, and psychological consequences that may follow a critical incident This class does not dictate action or enforce policy—it exists solely to inform, guide, and support. Our goal is to help every congregation develop its own safe, effective, and sustainable protection plan, built on practical knowledge and lessons learned from real events.
